Not a Simpsons Postal stamp, but a commememrative cover issued by Romania in conjunction with the HONG KONG 2004 Stamp Expo, promoted by the Hong Kong Philatelic Society. The cover has a 2002 Romanian clown stamp with a Krusty the Clown cachet and the logo of the HONG KONG 2004 Stamp Expo. Haven't seen this cachet officially endorsed or documented which makes us suspicious; Krusty is missing the Matt Groening signature. Nonetheless a large number of countries issued cachets in conjunction with the expo, and Romania was not only a participant but has gone on to issue a joint stamp issue with Hong Kong and sponsored an official international stamp expo. The stamp itself on the cachet is certainly authentic. |
