A new Christmas-themed DVD will be released in the USA and Canada on November 2.
Even if the final title is not yet available, it's already available to pre-order at
Amazon.com.
According to TV Shows on DVD, the disc contains these
four episodes:
- Homer vs. Dignity (CABF04)
- Skinner's Sense of Snow (CABF06)
- Dude, Where's My Ranch? (EABF13)
- 'Tis the Fifteenth Season (FABF02)
In the UK, the planned release date for "Christmas 2" is October 25.
Kenneth White of Simpsons-L reports
that in New Zealand he came across copies of
The Complete Third Season
that were in two dual disc jewel cases rather than the usual
fold-out method usually associated with the sets. The third season
was released last year in New Zealand in the standard fold-out
style, but it seems these new issues are like this instead.
In Finland, the release of
The Complete Fourth
Season has been pushed to July 23.

Our Wesley Mead's in-depth review of the 4th season DVD set has
been posted to our main news page. Other recent reviews you might want to check out:
"The Simpsons Gone Wild" will be released in the USA on September 14.
It includes four episodes ("Homer's Night Out," "Sunday Cruddy Sunday", "The
Mansion Family" and "Homer The Moe") and a Krusty
the Clown clip featurette on one disc. Note that the cover art in the recent
European edition is
different.
The Complete Fourth
Season will be released in Australia on August 25. However,
"The Simpsons Gone Wild" becomes available on July 7.
Final note: Apparently many fans haven't come across the second commentary track for
Marge vs. the Monorail that features Conan O'Brien, as only the main
one appears on the on-screen menu. To turn the Easter egg track on, press the "audio" button your DVD player's remote
control while playing until you find the second commentary, right after the first one.

According to an unconfirmed
Internet rumor,
after his show in Canada, Conan O'Brien had said he'll be doing season 4 commentaries.
"Hey are you doing the Simpsons Season 4 commentaries?"
"Yeah, we recorded it last week."
"Monorail?"
"Yeah, Monorail!"
Time will tell whether this is true and if Conan will also be commenting on
"New Kid on the Block", the other 4th season episode he wrote.
Mike Reiss talked to DVDFanatic.com
about the Simpsons (and "The Critic") DVDs:
I'm going in, in a couple hours to do more commentary and Jon Lovitz will be there.
We could not get Jon Lovitz, he just wasn’t available to do "The Critic" commentary
and he's in town so he'll be doing some "Simpsons" commentary on the episodes he
appeared in.
[...]
You know, I own these DVDs, I comment on them but I never watch any of them! I don't
know what bonus material they have but they always seem to deliver. They take these
DVDs very seriously so there is certainly a lot of commentary. There is commentary
on every episode and we're getting the cast in more to do commentary so that's
something.
The old news regarding
The Complete Third Season and other titles released at the time have now been
archived. This page is all set for news on
The Complete Fourth
Season, and other new Simpsons DVD titles.
Unfortunately, as Fox Home has neither revealed nor hinted practically anything about their
plans for the 4th season, there's nothing solid to report about it yet.
In the meantime, Fox TV DVD in the UK
has announced that in addition to the season 4 boxed set, a single-disc DVD called
"The Simpsons Go Wild" and an unspecified number of new titles in
"The Simpsons Classics" series will be released later this year
in the UK (and possibly elsewhere in Europe and in Australia). The "Classics"
series currently consists of 5 discs available in the UK, each carrying 4 episodes from
various seasons (more info).
