Don Del Grande has more information on the special features on The Fifteenth Season DVD: In addition to the "usual" deleted scene Easter eggs, a number of episodes have hidden features that are accessed during the episode when a "Simpsons Xing" street sign shows up, although you may have to be watching with the commentary and/or deleted scenes activated in order to see them.
For the eighth time in a row, Wesley Mead's extensive review of the latest DVD set is here. The review of The Fifteenth Season DVD/Blu-Ray is now available on our main news page.
Wesley Mead's extensive review of the The Fourteenth Season DVD is now available on our main news page.
The Complete Fourteenth Season DVD and Blu-Ray will be released on December 6, 2011 in the USA and Canada. Also, the UK release has been moved to October 10. In France, the street date is November 13, In Finland November 18 and in Australia November 30.
The cover art includes the alien Kodos (or Kang), most familiar from the Treehouse of Horror episodes. As usual, the set will be available in "standard" and "head" boxes, DVD only.
Wesley Mead's extensive review of The Complete Thirteenth Season DVD boxed set is now available on our news page.
The Complete Thirteenth Season is now available on DVD and Blu-Ray. Commentaries on each episode contain guest commentators, such as Joe Mantegna, Stan Lee, Delroy Lindo and Robert Pinsky.
The release date for the UK is September 13 and for Australia September 29.
The 20th season is now out on both DVD (4 discs) and Blu-Ray (2 discs). However, be advised that to everyone's surprise this set contains no commentaries or any other special features! Well, there is a so-called sneak preview of the "The Simpsons 20th Anniversary Special" that aired before the set was out. Even the animated menus are replaced with the simplest black & white doodles. In other words, this set was rushed together at the last minute and doesn't do justice to the 20th anniversary of the show. This set should've been the most extensive to date in terms of special features and other goodies. But it isn't. It is quite the opposite.
Fox has informed retailers that the release date for the 20th season will be January 12, 2010. This applies to both DVD (4 discs) and Blu-Ray (2 discs) sets. The only special feature mentioned at this point is "The 20th Anniversary Special Sneak Peek by Morgan Spurlock", TVShowsOnDVD reports. Naturally, we all hope that this set will also feature commentaries for each episode like all previous sets, but that remains to be seen.
Amazon.com is already taking preorders for both DVD and Blu-Ray sets. There is also a KFC promotion for The Simpsons Ride that is giving away the Twentieth Season DVD as prizes. |
