Simpsons Comics and Stories was a special publication of the magazine
Simpsons Illustrated by Welsh Publishing Group Inc.
before Bongo Comics Group was formed. It's success led to the decision to form Bongo Comics Group and to stop publication of Simpsons Illustrated.
Therefore this is the only Simpsons item within the Simpsons Comics guide not published by Bongo
(Simpsons Illustrated is listed in its own set of pages).
The following 4 x 4 (20 1/2" by 26") Radioactive Man Meets Bartman poster came bagged with this issue:
|
The version below is the same as the regular Welsh Publishing issue above but it is smaller (ashcan size) and it came wrapped in a Butterfinger bag with Butterfinger candy bars.
|
Bongo Comics Group Spectacular (1993)
This hard covered book was only handed out to employees of Bongo. Only 1000 hand-numbered copies
were distributed. It includes the complete contents of the four comics listed above, in the order
listed. This includes the letters sections, but excludes the four front and back covers,
including the Atlasman faux advertisement on the back of
Radioactive Man #1
|
|
The Official History of Bongo Comics (August 1993)
This was limited to 750 hand-numbered copies, given out to a few patrons at the San Diego Comic Con in 1993. This was part of the launch of Bongo Comics.
|
|
Best Radioactive Man Event Ever (July 2009)
This book was only available at Comic Con 2009 and consisted of the three-part crossover
series noted above bound into a trade paperback. Only 1000 copies were distributed.

Credits supplied on the last page presumably apply to the first story and the
preparation of the volume as a whole.
This was only available at Comic Con 2012 and consists of three new stories.
Initial rumours circulated that only 200 copies were distributed, but this number
appears to be incorrect. Note that this same book was released in Australia by Otter Press
(with an Otter Press logo on the cover amongst other minor differences)
and in Spain (in Spanish) and Germany (in German).
We apologize for the blemished cover. Someone appeared to be scribbling on all
the covers distributed at the San Diego Comic Con.

Our own Superman Fry is seen on the left, carrying a large object as people flee, mirroring the
cover that has been repeatedly parodied on the right. While Any Bongo Comics
fan would find the comic on the left to be far more valuable, there are those for whom nostalgia
might have them choose the item on the right, the June 1938 issue of the
Action Comics #1 digest, which included the first appearance of Superman. I have extra copies
of the item on the left if anyone wants to trade me for their extra copies of the original item
on the right.
