The note on the bottom right of Simpsons Super Spectacular #1 indicates (AFTER DITKO) referring, of course, to Steve Ditko, best known as co-creator of Spider-Man and Doctor Strange. We begin by extracting the cover within the back cover of Simpsons Super Spectacular #1 yielding the cover above to the left, which pays homage to Ditko's earlier days with Charlton comics where he co-created Captain Atom. Captain Atom first appeared in Space Adventures #33 in March 1960, above, before appearing in it's own series. Note the upper left hand corner of both comics, with a diagonal stripe with the name of the series and the publisher logos, and the top right with the Comic Code Authority label.
