“The Simpsons Forever!,” is the
second volume of a four volume set; the entire set has been replaced by Simpsons World.
Just as the book
The Simpsons Forever
serves to complement the first book in the series,
The Simpsons: A Complete Guide to Our Favorite Family, this list complements
the list
Errors in the Complete Guide.
All errors (even if only the type thereof) are emboldened for
easy page-skimming.
If you know of any mistakes not listed here, please point them out
in an e-mail. Please include
the page number(s) containing the error! We gladly note all
contributors names (if so desired) at the end of this document.
For a complete list of additional books, see the
Simpsons Book List.
BROADCAST DATES
p.52
|
Episode “When You Dish Upon A Star”
(5F19) was first shown
November 8, 1998 rather than November 8, 1999.
Effective with the 8th printing this has been corrected.
|
BLACKBOARD GAGS

“My butt does not deserve its own website”
(3G04).

Although the opening was altered, Bart nonetheless appeared writing
“I will not mess with the opening credits” at the opening
of the show; not listed in book

|
p.52
|
Should be “"butt.com" is not my E-mail address” rather than
“"butt.butt" is not my E-mail address”
(5F19). The second form
appeared in subsequent showings inasmuch as butt.com is an actual
web site address. In addition the web site address has quotation
marks that are missing from the book. We recognize, of course, that
just as the unfortunate choice of URL was eliminated from the show
they choose to eliminate it from the book.

|
MISCELLANEOUS
----
|
While it is understood that not every page is necessarily
paginated, because of conflicts with illustrations, coloring,
etc., there are a remarkable number of missing page
numbers where there is ample white space to supply them
(including p. 18, 27, 34, 38, 39, 42, 46, 58, 63, 68, 71 and 76).
|
p.12
|
In the character bio for the "real" Seymour Skinner he appears
in a olive green uniform when it should be a dark green
uniform, as it appears in the center picture in the upper half
of the same page.
(4F23)
|
p.20
|
The episode number for
Episode “Lisa the Skeptic”
(5F05) is missing.
Effective with the 8th printing this has been corrected.
|
p.24
|
In the section "The Stuff You May Have Missed" they supply an
incorrect episode number, saying "The musical numbers in
this episode were drawn from the following episodes...
1F09, 'Homer the Great'". That should be episode
2F09.
Effective with the 8th printing this has been corrected.
|
p.25
|
In the section "The Stuff You May Have Missed" they state that
"Krusty is squirted in the face by Bart", when
in fact Bart is squirted in the face by Lisa.
(5F08)
Effective with the 8th printing this has been corrected.
|
p.41
|
In the section "The Stuff You May Have Missed" the last sentence states
"The Khlav Kalash salesman, last seen in
4F22,
'The People of New York vs. Homer Simpson...'". The correct
title of that episode is "The City of New York vs. Homer Simpson."
Effective with the 8th printing this has been corrected. Now all they
need to do is correct it on page 48 (see below!).
|
p.48
|
In the section "The Stuff You May Have Missed" the first paragraph states
"...It was last used in 4F22,
'The People of New York vs. Homer Simpson...'". The correct
title of that episode is "The City of New York vs. Homer Simpson."
This reference was altogether removed from Simpsons World.
|
p.64
|
The Shriners appear in cars driving from left to right with
Crazy Old Man in front and Grampa in the rear.
That's the reverse of the order in the episode (Grampa in front
and Crazy Old Man in rear). An intentionally incorrect placement
to allow the cars to read "APU LOVES MANJULA" from left to right
could have been easily 'solved' by having the cars driving from
right to left.
(AABF11).

----
|
On the back cover it mentions that it includes
"Homeris-mmms!" Many have theorized that this was
intended to be "Homer's-mmms!" but this is not true, confirmed
by the reuse of the expression on the back cover of the third volume
in this Simpsons series The Simpsons Beyond Forever!.

PRINTING VARIATIONS
There are two versions of this book. The first version,
represented by the first seven printings from 1999 to 2001,
contains all of the errors noted above. The second version,
represented by the eighth and subsequent printings, beginning
in the latter half of 2001, corrected most of the errors identified above.
Note that all of the first version printings and some of the second versions
of this book can have the notation FIRST EDITION, although as of the 11th printing
this was removed altogether. We believe this volume is currently in its 13th printing.
FOREIGN EDITIONS
UK Edition
The first UK printing, published in 1999, naturally included the same errors as the
original US printing.
Spanish Edition
The first Spanish printing of this book Los Simpson ¡ Por Siempre! is based on the
first version of the book and includes the errors noted above. Note however that many of the
errors (such as voice credits) are not applicable to the Spanish edition.
German Edition
The first German printing of this book Die Simpsons Forever!
Der Ultimative Serienguide ...Geht Weiter
published in 2001 appears to be based on the second version of the
U.S. book, since it includes the corrections. (Note that many of the
corrections however are particular only to the English broadcast!)
In addition to everything in the English version, it also includes the first German airdates
(in addition to the first U.S. airdates), and other details specific to the German series.
