Treehouse of Horror #12 Bart Simpson's Treehouse of Horror #12  (Sept 2006)

Three Eisner® award-winning masters of humor comics team-up to tell some wildly wicked and devilishly delightful Halloween howlers. Join Kyle Baker (Why I Hate Saturn, Plastic Man) as he takes a gentle fairy tale and turns it into a bloody rampage in the hands of Bart Simpson. Then Terry Moore (Strangers in Paradise) revisits the biblical story of Noah's Ark, but in this tricked out version Homer is encouraged to build an ark so that God can exterminate all the cockroaches. And finally Eric Powell (The Goon) provides a harrowing tale of a crazed Groundskeeper Willie bent on avenging his prized emu.

Treehouse of Horror #14 The Simpsons' Treehouse of Horror #14  (Sept 2008)

The Simpsons spin some thrillifying chiller-diller horror stories with a little help from some of comicdom's most innovative storytellers. First up, modern masters of horror comics Steve Niles (30 Days of Night, Criminal Macabre) and Glenn Fabry (Preacher, Hellblazer) concoct a dread-filled tale of woe, when a freak nuclear accident leads to an onslaught of vampire attacks, and the people of Springfield learn that there is nothing to fear but Nosferatu himself! Ian Boothby and manga artist Nina Matsumoto take a page from the popular Death Note series with a story about an evil book that spells doom for anyone whose name is written into it. Then, independent comic creator and magical realist Gilbert Hernandez (Love and Rockets, Palomar) reinvents one of his favorite cult films, Frankenstein Conquers the World, featuring Homer Simpson as a gluttonously destructive force of nature...so what else is new?

Treehouse of Horror #15 The Simpsons' Treehouse of Horror #15  (Sept 2009)

Guest edited by Sammy Harkham, the award-winning creator of the popular Kramers Ergot anthology, this year's issue is a jam-packed with some of the most idiosyncratic (and weirdest) takes on "The Simpsons" universe ever. Among Halloween-inspired short strips by such visionary cartoonists as Jordan Crane (Uptight), C.F. (Powr Mastrs), Will Sweeney (Tales from Greenfuzz), Tim Hensley (MOME), and John Kerschbaum (Petey & Pussy), are four featured tales of inspired Simpsons lunacy: heralded artists Kevin Huizenga (Ganges, Or Else) and Matthew Thurber (1-800 Mice, Kramers Ergot) collaborate on a weird and wild story equal parts Lovecraftian eco-horror and Philip K. Dick identity comedy. Jeffrey Brown (Incredible Change-Bots, Clumsy) does a creepy and suitably pathetic story featuring Milhouse in a "Bad Ronald"-inspired tale of murder and crawl space living. Harkham and Ted May (INJURY) pull out all the stops for a tragic monster tale of unrequited love, bad karaoke, and body snatching at Moe's Bar. Ben Jones (Paper Rad) does the comic of his life with an epic tale of how bootleg candy being sold at the Kwik-E-Mart rapidly spirals out of control into an Invasion of The Body Snatchers-like nightmare of a Springfield filled with cheap bootleg versions of familiar characters. And nobody does squishy, sweaty, and gross like up and coming cartoonist Jon Vermilyea (MOME), who outdoes himself with "C.H.U.M.M.," a C.H.U.D.-inspired parody featuring everybody's favorite senior citizen, Hans Moleman!

With a cover by Dan Zettwoch, The Simpsons' Treehouse of Horror #15 is like nothing you've ever seen, and is sure to be one of the most talked about comics of the year by alternative comic readers and "Simpsons" fans of all ages!

Although spelled correctly in the advance copy and on the cover the credits within the story misspell the name Kelley Jones as Kelly Jones for the story "The Coff-Diddly-Offin".

"Marge Attacks!" is a cardboard page attached as a centerfold (and hence within the pages of "The Coff-Diddly-Offin" story above) shown on the upper right with a four-card sampling of an imaginary 55-piece trading card set, parodying the Topps Mars Attacks! 55 card series from 1962. They had originally illustrated a faux card on the back of Bart Simpson's Treehouse of Horror #2 from fourteen years ago, but this provided real two-sided cards, two of which we illustrate below.

Treehouse of Horror #16 Marge Attacks #9 Mars Attacks #17

Marge Attacks! parodies Mars Attacks!, a Topps 1962 card series that was subseqently reissued and made into a movie. Above to the left we see Marge Attacks #9 parodying Mars Attacks #17, with the alien breaking through the red-curtained window, glass flying, attacking the victim in bed.

Treehouse of Horror #16 Marge Attacks #9 Mars Attacks #17

Above to the left we see Marge Attacks #22 parodying Mars Attacks #36, with the alien shoooting Milhouse / a dog, a shocked boy losing his best friend in the background, a mailbox to the right and two alien space ships in the sky.
