In a stunning shift of power, the sons of The Legitimate Businessman's Social Club associates (aka the Mafia) move-in on the "bully" trade at Springfield Elementary, and they have their sights set on recruiting Bart Simpson as their newest member. In other tales, Homer tries to make up to Maggie by offering her the Moon, Milhouse imagines himself on the plains of Africa, and Professor Frink pays an unexpected visit to the Simpsons household.

When Professor Frink's experiments give rise to a group of highly intelligent chimpanzees, Bart and Milhouse find their treehouse overrun by the educated primates. Once their battle plan to take it back is drawn up from beneath the branches of their beloved hideout, Bart and his buddy must prepare for a final showdown that will either lead to conquest or require escape from the Treehouse of the Apes. Then, Bart and Milhouse seek out their own superheroic origin stories by attempting to acquire "accidental" superpowers. However, they soon discover that with trying to obtain great power comes great irresponsibility. Finally, Ralph Wiggum takes his place in right field during a baseball game and discovers a world of adventure.

After an unfortunate trip to the dentist, Principal Skinner is mistaken for a vampire. It doesn't help that Bart fuels the fire (and supplies the pitchforks) to an unruly mob uprising. And when Bart brings one of Professor Frink's recent discoveries to school, it leads to some hair-raising hilarity. Then, Bart and Milhouse embark on an embittered and injurious thumbwrestling battle. Also, join McBain in the first of a series heroic features as he takes on his archenemy -- "Mendoza!"
