This Bongo Beat was also printed in Simpsons Comics #191.


The allusion to Josie and the Pussycats on this cover is obvious, with Bart on the left as Josie McCoy on guitar, Milhouse as Melody Valentine on drums, and Martin as Valerie Brown on tabourines. The roles are certainly not a coincidence, since Bart/Josie is the leader, and Valerie and Martin are highly intelligent.
