Homer reveals his painkillers addiction. (No, this is not an early April Fools joke.)
The following was taken from the January 19 edition of the Atlanta Journal Constitution. It was probably printed in other newspapers as well.
"It's kind of a parody of VH1's Behind the Music that's called Behind the Laughter", said series executive producer Mike Scully.
"What we did is make up a phony history of The Simpsons, as a TV series and the Simpsons family, basically treating them like the Nelson Family, like Ozzie and Harriet", Scully added. "Like they were a real family who happened to get their own TV show."
The Behind the Laughter expose of the Simpsons will "take you behind the scenes through their success and the backstage battles", Scully said. And, yes, one of those backstage crucibles involves Homer's addictive struggle with painkillers.
(Willie Nelson guest stars) (Season finale -- airs on May 21)
These episodes are held for season 12
The schedule is partly based on whatever we can find on FoxWorld, and most online TV schedules. The remainder comes from various sources, credited or not, including our own network of secret agents, some calls at a psychic hotline, and the study of chicken entrails.
