= the crook jumps from inside Bart's room (although all we can see is
his hand) to far outside Bart's room in a split second.
* How was that lifelike Butterfinger bar drawn with just a black magic
marker?
~ In real life, people posing for mug shots wouldn't display just their

Quotes and Scene Summaries
Bart is sound asleep in his room at night. On his wall, there is a big
safe shaped like Krusty the Clown's head. From off-screen, an ominious
black gloved hand unlocks the safe and claims its prize: a Butterfinger
bar! Bart wakes up screaming just in time to see the suspect's shadow
sneaking down the hall, and instantly dials the police.
Bart: [sternly] Police...I've been _robbed_!
Wiggum: Uh, you say it was crispity, crunchety _and_ peanutbuttery?
A sketch artist draws something on a large pad of paper and turns it
around to show Chief Wiggum. It's a picture of a Butterfinger bar, and
the chief grunts with delight. Now, various Springfield residents are
posing for mug shots, including Otto, Lisa, Krusty, Nelson, Mr. Burns
and Homer. As each of them pose, Scott Christian's voice speaks from
off-screen.
Scott: Who laid a finger on Bart's Butterfinger? There are six
suspects but only five alibies.
Homer: [posing for mug-shot] What's an alibi? [pauses] D'oh!
Scott: Find out who _doesn't_ have an alibi and you can win $50,000.
See these wrappers for details.
[Butterfinger wrappers are shown]
All the suspects are gathered in the police interrogation room. Homer
is strapped into a lie detector that Chief Wiggum is operating.
Chief: [lazily] Name.
Homer: Somer Himpson. I mean Homer...
[Homer gets an electric shock and screams]
Bart: [devilish laugh]
